Title: Linear Algebra and the Fibonacci Sequence

Abstract: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, …, F[n], ….

Curious about the Fibonacci sequence? Want to learn how to calculate the n-th Fibonacci number without calculating all the lower numbers? During this talk I will show you one way to solve this problem, using some basic linear algebra. All you need to know before coming is how to multiply and add. See you on Saturday!

3.14pm-4pm: This is a fun opportunity to meet fellow students, speakers, volunteers and everyone else involved in the math circle. There will be lots of great games, and we’ll be building a large origami structure!
